In the efforts to keep a valued asset open, Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park, the birthplace of the California Gold Rush, the craze of the 49ers, and the development of the Sacramento Valley, I see my role as a supporter of the Gold Discovery Park Association and an advocate for the ongoing preservation of this beautiful California State Park!

Kathleen: I am an advocate for the protection of Marshall Gold Discovery State Historical Park, in Coloma, California. I participate as a volunteer docent to the park. In recent years I've pursued a life-long interest in photography, and in my free time have been photo-documenting the condition of both historic cemeteries. When out and about, taking pictures or participating in events, I meet interesting people with interesting stories and thought it would be fun to share those moments and my love for being here. It is important to keep the word out there that this Park matters. People still come from all over the world and ask, Where is Sutter's Mill? It is my hope that this blog will increase online visibility of the Gold Discovery Park Association and Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park and keep people curious about the rich history of Coloma.
